What is counselling?

Counselling, also known as talking therapy, can feel scary and daunting at times but it’s a place where you can openly explore and makes sense of experienced difficulties. 
My role here is to support YOU. As your counsellor, I will help you through this process, without judgment or telling you what to do. You can decide on goals, what you want to achieve or change.

What happens during initial consultation?

The initial session will be about trying to find out why you are looking for therapy; what you want to achieve from the therapy, and agreeing how we are going to work together. It is my hope to create enough opportunities for us to decide whether we both are comfortable working together and to check that you can be offered the most appropriate support.


My counselling practice operates on 48h cancellation policy. 

If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, you may do so without charge by giving at least 48 hours notice. This will give us the opportunity to reschedule your appointment without unnecessary disruptions. 

If you do not attend without prior notice or cancel a scheduled appointment with less than 48h, there is an obligation to pay the full amount. 

Cancellations can be communicated via phone call, text message or email. 

If I was to reschedule a session, I will give you as much notice as possible. 

Accessibility /Arrival

Tamworth counselling office is based in town centre with a near access to carparks, bus stops and a train station. The access to the main building consist of two steps leading to a wide, even area by the main door. There are also toilets facilities available on the premises. No parking.  

Office based in Appleby Magna is accessible through the main gate of Sir John Moor Foundation grounds with free parking spaces available for all clients. The office is located within 7 min of M42 Junction 11 and is based on the first floor, no lift available. Toilets facilities available on the premises.

Due to Covid regulations, all clients are asked to arrive no earlier than 5 min before the session is due and asked to wear a mask before entering the buildings.
