For Parents/Responsible Adults

If you're looking to support your child in making sense of their difficulties, I would like you to take a moment to acknowledge your effort.I recognise that is of high importance to ensure you and your child get familiar with what counselling is and how I, as a professional, can be of help.
As a qualified counsellor, I'm registered and verified by a professional body, The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have full civil liability insurance cover and an up-to-date enhanced DBS police certificate, which means I have been checked and cleared for working with children and young people.
In my line of work, I pay close attention to the child's safety, needs and wishes, including confidentiality. Privacy is especially important when securing and maintaining a child's trust and can be enhanced when your child feels free to discuss personal matters with greater freedom.
My role in the therapeutic setting can include strategies to help your child to manage their anxiety, stress and challenging feelings. The counselling sessions can focus on psycho-education, attachment-based interventions, creative art and play as a way of providing experiences in which a child feels seen, validated and affirmed.

Adolescent - I see you ..

Counselling, also known as talking therapy, can feel scary and daunting at times but it's a place where you can openly explore and makes sense of experienced difficulties. Therapy is where all that matters is YOU.

Our society wrongly taught us that seeking out support, especially in counselling, makes people look weak, inadequate. Wrong!

As a client myself, I get how difficult it is to take the first step when we feel lost, hurt or confused.

I also recognise that when we are truly heard and accepted, our feelings and perspectives can shift, creating space for new directions.

My role here is to support YOU. You can decide on goals, what you want to achieve or change. As your counsellor, I will help you through this process, without judgment or telling you what to do and I will respect and honour everything you decide to share with me. There are some exceptions to full confidentiality which I will clearly explain during our initial session.

If you're under 16, your parent/guardian consent will be required.
